GYM POLICIES & RULES
Membership & Access
• Adults (18+): Must sign their own waiver before using the facility. Full access to gym equipment and all classes.
General Membership (Under 18):
• Anyone 17 or younger requires a parent/guardian to sign their membership form and waiver.
• A parent can sign up their child at any age as a general member (e.g., 12–13-year-olds who want to train outside of kids’ class and utilize the open gym).
• Class access by age:
• Ages 6–14: Kids must join the Youth Class Program (see below).
• Ages 15–17: With parental consent, youth may participate in adult classes (Beginner Muay Thai, All Levels Boxing, Conditioning, etc.).
Youth Class Program (Ages 6–14):
• Runs as a separate program from general membership.
• Youth class members only attend scheduled kids’ classes each week.
• This option is designed for younger kids who aren’t training on their own time — it keeps things structured and affordable.
• Once they turn 15, they become eligible for adult classes through a general membership.
• No unauthorized access. Memberships are non-transferable.
• Members must check in upon arrival.
• Sneaking in non-members = membership cancelled immediately.
• Fees must be up to date to use the facility.
Combat Sports Training
• Gloves, shin guards, mouthguards, etc. must be worn when required.
• Sparring only under coach supervision — no unsupervised sparring.
• Tap = stop immediately, no exceptions.
• Controlled contact only — no reckless or unsafe sparring.
• No recording/posting sparring without consent from participants and coaches.
• Coach’s instructions are final at all times — especially during training and sparring.
Fitness Area & Machines
• Wipe down machines and benches after each use.
• Don’t hog equipment — allow others to “work in” if asked.
• 45-minute limit on cardio machines during peak hours (feel free to ask a Kru, coach, or staff what peak hours are).
• Report any broken/damaged equipment immediately.
• No outside trainers — only Mainland MMA coaches may provide private or one-on-one training sessions.
Youth Programs
• Must be signed in/out by parent or guardian.
• No loitering in unsupervised areas.
• Parents watch from designated viewing areas only.
• No bullying, swearing, or unsafe behavior — respect is mandatory.
• Youth must follow coaches’ directions at all times. ⸻ Footwear & Cleanliness
• Mainland MMA is a barefoot training facility — no outdoor shoes allowed on the mats.
• When entering, remove footwear and place it neatly on the designated shoe mats.
• Tuck socks into shoes and wipe your feet if they are dusty or dirty before stepping on mats.
• Training barefoot is preferred for safety and cleanliness.
If you choose to wear socks:
• They must be fresh, clean socks (not the same ones worn in shoes).
• Understand that socks can be slippery on mats unless they are grip socks.
• Choosing to train in socks is your responsibility and is at your own risk.
• The goal is to maintain a very sanitary and professional gym for everyone.
Hygiene & Safety
• Wash hands and maintain good hygiene before training.
• Bring your own towel, water bottle, and personal gear.
• Cover cuts or open wounds before training.
• If you’re sick, don’t train or use equipment.
Conduct & Discipline
• Zero tolerance for violence outside of sanctioned training.
• Harassment, threats, theft, or vandalism = instant membership termination.
• Coaches/management may remove anyone for unsafe or disrespectful behavior.
Payments & Cancellations
• Membership payments must be made on schedule.
• Late payments may result in suspension of access.
• Cancellations can be made directly through the website, the same way you signed up.
• Cancellations require proper notice as per membership terms.
• No refunds for unused time, missed classes, or no-shows.
Liability & Waiver
• All members (or guardians for youth) must sign waiver before using the facility.
• Training and fitness activities carry inherent risks — participation is voluntary.
• Mainland MMA is not responsible for injuries, illness, or lost/stolen property.
