ANNOUNCEMENTS

TITLES, EXPANSION AND WHAT’S NEXT FOR MAINLAND MMA

There is a tremendous amount happening at Mainland MMA right now—and we’re only getting started.

During the summer of 2026, Mainland travelled to Des Moines, Iowa, for the TBA Muay Thai Classic & Expo: World Championships, the largest Muay Thai tournament in North America. We proudly returned home with a world championship title, marking a major international achievement for our team.

In August, Mainland travelled to Kitchener, Ontario, for the Canadian Muay Thai Open, where we added a CMTO belt and national title to our growing list of accomplishments.

Bringing these titles home means a great deal to our athletes, coaches and everyone who has supported Mainland. They represent the discipline, preparation and commitment being developed inside our gym every week—and they have set the standard for what comes next.

BUILDING THE NEXT HALF OF MAINLAND

Alongside our competition success, we have officially started planning the next expansion of Mainland MMA. We already have our home and the close-knit club we’ve worked hard to build. The next step is constructing the other half of Mainland directly alongside our existing facility, allowing the gym to more than double in size.

Throughout the fall, winter and into the new year, Mainland’s three coaches—Coach Brett MacPhail, Kru Zach Ellsworth and Coach Brady MacDonald—will continue discussing and planning how the expanded space will be designed and used. This will allow us to take our programming, equipment, training areas and overall athlete development even further.

We are incredibly proud of what Mainland has accomplished during our first full year operating publicly from our own facility. After years of working from a private basement space, we finally had the opportunity to open our doors, grow our membership and show people what Mainland MMA could become.

The results have exceeded our expectations—but the year is not finished yet.

FIGHT LEAGUE ATLANTIC 26

Mainland returns to competition this fall at Fight League Atlantic 26, taking place September 26, 2026, at the Hector Arena in Pictou.

Three Mainland fighters will step into the cage: two making their return and one making their MMA debut.

We have additional opportunities, fight offers and major plans already being discussed for the new year. As proud as we are of everything accomplished in 2026, we believe 2027 will allow us to go even further.

First, we still have unfinished business this year.

Get your tickets for FLA 26 through FightLeagueAtlantic.com and come support your Mainland fighters.
