COMPETITION TEAM
Competition Team at Mainland MMA
The Mainland MMA Competition Team is not a casual program—it’s a commitment. This team is built for athletes who want structure, accountability, and real progression in combat sports. Training is available multiple times throughout the week, with dedicated competition-focused sessions and a two-hour Saturday night team practice designed to sharpen every aspect of performance. There is room here for developing athletes and consistent training partners alike, but there is a clear distinction between being part of the room and earning the right to compete. Showing up matters. Consistency matters. Standards matter.
Our competition program is built on long-term development, not rushed matchups. We don’t place fighters into C-class bouts until they move and perform like B-class athletes. We don’t send B-class fighters out unless they carry themselves like A-class competitors. Sessions are high-intensity and high-discipline, covering conditioning, technical footwork, explosive striking, defensive awareness, ring IQ, and mindset. Training ranges from foundational fundamentals to advanced, fight-paced work—and beyond. You’ll drill, spar, run, lift, sweat, struggle, and grow. There’s no room for “half-in.” This is a serious program for serious athletes.
Mainland MMA competes across Muay Thai, K1, kickboxing, boxing, and MMA—and we proudly develop fighters who compete under Fight League Atlantic, the premier stage for mixed martial arts in Atlantic Canada. Whether your goal is to specialize in a single discipline or to fight under the FLA banner, we can build that path with you, but only if you’re truly locked in. When you wear the Mainland name on fight night, you’re representing something bigger. That right is earned, not given.
Youth Competition Team at Mainland MMA
Our Youth Competition Team trains Saturdays at 4:00 PM, right after Kids Class. This is for the kids who want to take training seriously — the ones who talk about competing, love the challenge, and want to sharpen their skills beyond the basics. It’s an extra hour focused on sparring, discipline, and developing real fight ability. Members of the Youth Competition Team can earn opportunities to compete at Mainland Fight Nights and future youth tournaments across Canada and the U.S. Participation is included in the price of Kids Class, so if your child wants to try it out, they can stay after on Saturdays and join in.
