COMPETITION TEAM

Competition Team at Mainland MMA

Competition Team is not for the casual. It’s for the committed. If you’re going to be on the team, you need to show up—multiple times a week, every week. We run competition-focused classes several times throughout the week, with a dedicated two-hour session on Saturday nights. There’s plenty of time available to get the work in, but if you’re not consistently attending, you’re not on the team. It’s that simple. There’s a difference between being on the team and actually getting to compete.

You can be inconsistent and still show up to help the real fighters sharpen their game—but if you’re not locked in, you’re just a good sparring partner. And we want you to be more than that. We want you all in. When you wear that Mainland name in the ring, you’re representing something bigger—and we take that seriously. Our program is built on standards. We don’t put a fighter into a C-class bout until they look like a B-class fighter. We don’t send B-class fighters out unless they move like A-class. And when you hit A-class, that’s a level we push you to with pride—because we know what you’re capable of. With full commitment, we can get you there. With an outstanding record. But only if you’re ready to work.

Competition Team sessions are high-intensity, high-discipline. We go over everything—conditioning, technical footwork, explosive striking, defensive awareness, ring IQ, and mindset. It’s everything from beginner-level fundamentals to advanced-class tempo, and then some. You’ll run. You’ll spar. You’ll drill. You’ll lift. You’ll sweat. You’ll suffer. But you’ll grow. There’s no room for half-in. This is for the serious. If you’re going to wear Mainland on fight night, you better earn it.

Youth Competition Team at Mainland MMA

Our Youth Competition Team trains Saturdays at 3:00 PM, right after Kids Class. This is for the kids who want to take training seriously — the ones who talk about competing, love the challenge, and want to sharpen their skills beyond the basics. It’s an extra hour focused on sparring, discipline, and developing real fight ability. Members of the Youth Competition Team can earn opportunities to compete at Mainland Fight Nights and future youth tournaments across Canada and the U.S. Participation is included in the price of Kids Class, so if your child wants to try it out, they can stay after on Saturdays and join in.
